After a tense and busy few months, we have exciting news to share. The Copernicus Data Access Service is delivering its first results. Our partners at Geocento have integrated Sentinel Hub, bringing even more data and capabilities to your fingertips. Learn how to co-register temporal stacks of satellite imagery. Stay up-to-date with everything new at Sentinel Hub, including Euro Data Cube and more. And make sure to attend our upcoming webinars and events.
New Copernicus Data Access Service to Support the Ecosystem for Earth Observation
We are proud to announce the launch of the new Copernicus Data Access Service, taking the EU's Copernicus programme to new heights. With experienced players leading the way, the future of European user data processing and distribution has never been brighter. Our Sentinel Hub services will provide users with the tools they need to unlock the full potential of vast amounts of open and free Earth Observation (EO) data from the Copernicus Sentinels, including new and historical Sentinel imagery and data from the Copernicus Contributing Missions.
You can access EO data through the Copernicus Browser and unleash its full potential. To learn more about this important project, check out our video. Stay tuned for more updates as the team continues to revolutionize the world of EO data processing and distribution.
Sentinel Hub Webinar: Use of EO Data in Search and Rescue
Join us on 27 February 2023 at 4pm CET and discover the incredible power of EO data for search and rescue missions! Our special guest, Benjamin Kuo, will share his expertise on the various types of imagery data available, including commercial options from Airbus, Maxar, and Capella, as well as open Sentinel data. You'll get a first-hand look at the pros, cons, and challenges of working with EO data, and hear inspiring examples of how satellite data has aided in successful search and rescue operations. Don't miss this exciting opportunity - learn more about the webinar and secure your spot today!
Geocento's Integration with Sentinel Hub
Explore Geocento's data collections interactively in Sentinel Hub
Good news for our users! By using EarthImages, Geocento's data explorer, you now have the ability to easily obtain data collections that were not previously supported by Sentinel Hub. These collections can be integrated into our services as Third-Party Data Imports for further interactive exploration. Get started with our simple step-by-step guide.

Changes in the Calculation of Processing Units
With increasing complexity of Sentinel Hub capabilities, it's time to refine the calculation of processing units. The changes, which come into effect on 1 April 2023, mainly address auxiliary services and shouldn't have a noticeable impact on the vast majority of users.
How to Co-Register Temporal Stacks of Satellite Images
Improving land monitoring and change detection algorithms by using image-based co-registration to compensate for geo-location errors
Geo-location errors impair land monitoring and change detection analysis, as they cause mixing of signal belonging to different spatial locations. We executed an extensive analysis of image-based co-registration methods, and evaluated their performance on Sentinel-2 and PlanetScope time-series. This research lead to updating our eo-learn library to allow users to replicate our results and improve on their existing processing pipelines. Read our blog post for details.

Asynchronous Process API Update
The Sentinel Hub Asynchronous Process API is now available for all users to test. You can consider the Asynchronous Process API as an intermediate tool between the Process API and the Batch Processing API. It is intended for larger requests where you don't need the results immediately. You can find details in our documentation.
Free Sentinel Hub Subscription for Accelerating Entrepreneurship
ESA and Sinergise to collaborate on promotion of EO Space entrepreneurship
ESA has signed a letter of intent with Sinergise to foster EO entrepreneurship and encourage the development of EO commercial solutions. The collaboration will target companies supported by ESA Φ-lab, the InCubed EO commercialisation programme, ESA’s Business Incubation Centres and ESA Technology Brokers. One of the key actions for accelerating entrepreneurship will be a free one-year enterprise-level subscription for the Sentinel Hub.

Other Sentinel Hub Updates
- Batch Statistical API and Asynchronous API support “assume role” access - Instead of using access keys both APIs can now assume your AWS IAM role to gain access to your buckets. Read more!
- Bring Your Own Data - BYOC now supports ingesting 1-, 2-, and 4-bit unsigned integer rasters. Read more!
- Data Fusion - With Data Fusion you can now also combine data from your batch and Zarr collections. Read more!
- STAC collections for Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 - We have added Sentinel-1 GRD and Sentinel-2 STAC collections to the AWS Open Data Registry. Read more!
Two new algorithms available
EDC Insights on Demand has been improved with two new algorithms aimed at agriculture. The Automatic Field Delineation algorithm can now automatically identify field boundaries using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. Additionally, users can access Sentinel-2 signals for EuroCrops and retrieve them for any area of interest within the dataset using the EDC Browser. Both of these new features are also available through the Sentinel Hub VAS - EDC pricing wizard in the NoR portal.
Working with data across borders can be difficult because of differences in the size of the fields. The fields around Bratislava (Austria in red with its superfine fields and Slovakia in blue with larger fields).
We hope to see you in person soon. Mark your calendars for our presentations at the following events:
