| The Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem has just got a major upgrade - Sentinel Hub APIs running within the core European data infrastructure, enabling streamlined data access in your code. Our much-loved Custom Script repository has also been updated to help you find the perfect script faster - or create a new one! We hosted a webinar on journalism and are preparing one on Open Source Intelligence. Our area monitoring solutions have been updated with grassland age detection and the Greening and Harvest Marker. Summer is just around the corner, which for us means we're preparing a summer school - check it out! |

Sentinel Hub Webinar: Open Source Intelligence |
| | Register for an insightful webinar on the growing importance of satellite data as a fact-checking tool. Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) harnesses openly available data, including online imagery, videos, vehicle tracking and remote sensing, to provide valuable intelligence. It plays a critical role in verifying or invalidating content in news outlets and social media, enabling accurate reporting on sensitive issues. In addition, OSINT is becoming increasingly indispensable in war crimes trials and for a comprehensive understanding of conflict situations. |
| | | In this webinar, we're pleased to have Eliot Higgins, Founder and Creative Director of Bellingcat, as our special guest. Don't miss this opportunity, register now and join us on 20 June 2023 at 3pm CEST (1pm UTC)! |

Detecting the Age of Grassland from the Sky |
| | Geospatial statistics are important for understanding and managing resources of our planet, and Earth Observation data is a valuable tool in improving the quality and reliability of such products. Check out our blog post where we and our partners demonstrated the potential of using satellite data in the production of national statistics. We made use of satellite imagery from multiple sources spanning 20+ years in order to determine the age of meadows in Slovenia. The age of a grassland is closely related to its species richness and carbon sequestration potential. Therefore, determining the age since the last soil disturbance of these areas helps in setting conservation priorities. |

Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem Receives First Major Upgrades |
| The European core EO data infrastructure is being continuously upgraded with new features and data collections. For those building services on top of the data access platform, many new API services have become available. These include a full implementation of the OGC APIs, Sentinel Hub Processing API, the Statistical API and the Catalog API. Read this post for more information. |
| | API access enables retrieving satellite data with specified processing already applied on the server side, including time series analysis tasks such as the agricultural growth stage visualization shown here near Turobin in Poland. 🌐 Copernicus Browser |
| Copernicus Browser has also received an update, now supporting interactive visualization of all Sentinel missions and is more or less on par with the feature set of its sibling, EO Browser. To keep up to date make sure to visit the official website. Also, congratulations to Copernicus for 25 years of excellent service! |

Area Monitoring Update - Greening and Harvest Marker for Monitoring the Crop Life Cycle |
| | The Greening and Harvest Marker provides answers to key questions such as when the crop was sown and harvested, or when the secondary crop began developing after the main harvest. By combining the marker outputs with Bare-Soil Marker data, a wealth of additional information can be obtained. This fusion can provide insights into whether the field was ploughed before sowing, whether the second crop was established through undersowing, or what cultivation techniques were used before sowing the second crop. |

Sentinel Hub Webinar: Remote Sensing for Journalists |
| Webinar recording now online |
| Satellite data has become an indispensable tool for journalists in gathering information on a variety of topics, including environmental issues, disasters and conflicts. In this webinar held on 25 May we explored how remote sensing technology can be used to enhance reporting and provide valuable insights into stories that would otherwise be difficult to cover. Christoph Koettl, New York Times expert, has presented a compelling case study showing a workflow for using satellite imagery in reporting, some cool story examples and his personal favourite resources. |

Collection of Custom Scripts: Enhanced Navigation and Search Functionality |
| Our collection of Custom Scripts has a new skin. This update brings a fresh look and improved navigation and search functionality to enhance the user experience. The repository provides a wide range of JavaScript custom scripts that play an important role in visualizing satellite imagery and controlling the values returned by Sentinel Hub services. The new interface makes it easier to explore and find the perfect custom script for each project and allows you to realise the full potential of satellite imagery visualization. |

Other Sentinel Hub Updates |
| - MODIS Data - Sentinel Hub is currently not receiving updates for MODIS data as the underlying data provider has ceased operations. Data from 24 February 2000 to 10 February 2023 is still accessible. We are in discussions with AWS on how to mitigate this issue.
- Batch Processing API - The request analysis phase has been improved when using WGS grids so that more evalscript errors are found before proceeding with tile processing.
