Planet Labs PBC has just launched the Planet Insights Platform, all-in-one destination for creating multidimensional Earth insights. This platform represents an important milestone as it brings together Planet’s product portfolio with the power of the Sentinel Hub, following the last year's joining forces. By combining analysis-ready Earth data products with cloud-based analytics, you can efficiently analyze, stream and distribute data at scale. This launch enables governments and organizations worldwide to unlock Earth observation data and make informed decisions.

Planet is best known for its Dove missions that capture global imagery daily, but the offering goes far beyond that. There are PlanetScope and SkySat, soon to be joined by Tanager and Pelican satellite imagery. You can dive into a wealth of Planetary Variables including Soil Water Content, Land Surface Temperature, Crop Biomass, and Forest Carbon Diligence, as well as Planet Basemaps.

To enable our users to get deeply familiar with the data offering, we are introducing Planet Sandbox Data, Planet data samples from PlanetScope, Analysis-Ready PlanetScope, SkySat, Planetary Variables and Planet Basemaps at hundreds of spots around the world, coinciding with the WorldStrat locations, ranging from 25 to 200 km² in size and containing dense time-stacks. The locations are spread across the world, assuring a stratified representation of various use cases. The volume and variety of data makes it possible not only to explore it, but also to build and test different models on top of it.

It's now easier than ever to combine Planet data with Sentinel Hub. For the past several years, Sentinel Hub has offered Planet data delivery through the Third Party Data Import API. Now, the ability to host data in Sentinel Hub can be done natively through the Planet Subscriptions API.

If you don't have access to Planet data, you can get started by purchasing data here. If you are already a subscriber to Planet data through Sentinel Hub, you can continue to use the Third Party Data Import API or start to use the Subscriptions API. And if you are a Planet customer without Sentinel Hub - you can start to take advantage of this new delivery destination. The Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem is growing fast! The total published data volume grew from about 60 petabytes in January to almost 72 petabytes now, but the number of registered users grew much faster: the ecosystem now serves more than 180 000 people, with about 1000 new users joining every day and the Browser receiving more than 300 000 visitors monthly.

With most services launched last year, this year will be all about releasing new datasets: Sentinel-1 analysis-ready data mosaics are coming in coming weeks, Copernicus Contributing Missions are gradually being added, and Sentinel-3 Level 2 products are coming in the summer. In the meantime, we've been busy creating educational materials for new users, including a growing number of Jupyter Notebook examples and in-depth blog posts about web integration and cloudless mosaics. Finally, we conducted our first user survey and met onsite and virtually with Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem users to hear your feedback and discuss the way forward.

In order to provide best possible experience to both Sinergise and Planet users, we are merging communities into the Planet Community, specifically in the Sentinel Hub subforum. All relevant content has already been migrated. For those who have a Planet account, you can engage with the Sentinel Hub community on Planet Community. The Sentinel Hub Forum will still be visible and serve as a resource, but all new posts and replies to old posts should now be made on Planet Community. We are excited and look forward to seeing you on Planet Community.
